We offer pre-set tour schedules, a calendar of events, lodging and historical information on Turlock. We can help schedule group tours and work with our hotel properties to set up blocks of rooms if necessary. The city of Turlock, located in Stanislaus County, is nestled in the heart of California's Central Valley. Situated about 93 miles south of the state capital of Sacramento at the intersection of California State Highways 99 and 165, Turlock affords close proximity to Interstate I-5 and State Highways 33, 132, and 140. Nearest communities are Modesto (to the northwest) and Merced (to the southeast). Turlock is the home of California State University Stanislaus (CSUS).

Incorporated in 1908, Turlock grew and developed in the midst of a heavy agricultural region. Benefiting from the influx of a diverse mix of ethnic and cultural residents, the city prospered through the 20th century and at one point was known for having the most churches for any city its size in the United States. In 1960, California State University, Stanislaus opened its doors for the first time, helping to spur the city's growth. In the 1980s and beyond, Turlock underwent extensive growth in both its residential and commercial areas, concurrent with a statewide boom in housing demand and construction as well as a spillover effect from growth in the San Francisco Bay Area.
